Madonna has begrudgingly turned her back on her movie career, because she is convinced the media is hell bent on ensuring her film projects are flops. The singer was lauded for her performance in the big screen adaptation of the musical Evita, but she has suffered a string of flops, most notably Body Of Evidence and Swept Away, her last movie role directed by husband Guy Ritchie, which failed to secure a cinema release. And the 47-year-old, who is currently in the midst of her Confessions world tour, will concentrate solely on her music career from now on. She says, "I hate to admit it, but I've decided to give that up. How can any film survive if everyone says it's going to be a flop from the very day the project is even conceived? It's already dead in the water."
One shakes his head in bemusement.
Why can't Paris Hilton get brainwaves like this? Oh wait. Need brainwaves to get brainwaves. Never mind.

The only thing I've seen Madonna in is "Dick Tracy," which I liked though I know I am not supposed to.
In that film, she, on occasion, rose to the level of competant. Other than that, she was the worst thing on screen.
Yeah, you do gotta love that "I'm not a star because the critics are mean" attitude. "It's nothing to do with me, honestly, coulda happened to Meryl Streep. I was just unlucky my film got released on a Crtic's Mean Day."
I thought she was good in Dick Tracy, but being surrounded by better actors didn't help. What little I've seen of Evita I thought she did well. But that's singing. She's supposed to do that well.
I don't think she knew her limitations, and I suspect she surrounds herself with people who are, for lack of a better word, Yes People.
Oh well. At least she has her day job...
