The name is Barrington J. Bayley. He wrote a short story for a comic book called Dominus years and years ago. The story, as I recall it, deals with a space exploration team dealing with a strange planet and its all-powerful ruler, Dominus. Sort of Lovecrafty in concept if not execution.
