I'm not positive on the accuracy of this, but Wikipedia has it that Dan Curtis passed away yesterday.
Dan Curtis was the producer on the horror soap opera "Dark Shadows" as well as the producer of the original "Night Stalker" movie. He directed several genre related movies, including "Trilogy of Terror", "Dracula" (with Jack Palance as the Count), "Scream of the Wolf", "House of Dark Shadows" (based on the series), and "Night Strangler" (sequel to "Night Stalker.")

May he rest in peace. Interestingly, I enjoyed every single one of the mentioned productions when they first came out. Including Dark Shadows - I used to rush home from elementary school to catch it on it's first run. My mom had her soap operas and I had mine.
